Fried Peppers

Fried Peppers

Did you try the easy baked veggie samosas I shared the other day? Well if they are on your menu for next week, these fried peppers are the perfect complement to eat with them! Funny story, I got the idea for these peppers while watching the pre-previews at the movie theater a few weeks ago. They were showing the recipe for an Indian fried pepper recipe that you could order during the movie, but I came up with a simplified recipe with easy to find ingredients that is just as tasty!

Instructions
  1. Slit each jalapeno pepper and gut as much of the seeds out as possible with your finger.
  2. Stuff each jalapeno pepper with a chunk of pepper jack cheese. Depending on the size of the jalapeno pepper, the cheese may have to be cut a little bit. It should fit 90%+ within the jalapeno.
  3. Heat the oil up on the stove in a deep-frying pan or wok until bubbles start to form.
  4. Take each pepper, dip in the milk, roll in the flour, and repeat these steps until the pepper is fully coated with batter.
  5. Drop in the oil until golden, it should take 10-30 seconds. Use tongs to toss and pull the fried peppers out from the oil.
  6. Dry the fried peppers on top of a few paper towels (this will help soak out the extra oils). Serve warm!
Recipe Notes

Pro Tip: These also taste delicious without the cheese stuffing, I made dairy free ones for myself and cheese stuffed ones for the boyfriend!

Fried Peppers are vegetarian and gluten, can be made vegan and dairy free.
