Three ingredients, one masterpiece. The Mediterranean tartine you'll make all summer.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices sourdough bread toasted
  • 2 heirloom tomatoes sliced
  • 10 leaves basil torn
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • flaky salt to taste

Method

  1. Toast sourdough until deeply golden, ~3 minutes.

  2. Layer tomato slices generously across each piece of toast.

  3. Scatter torn basil, drizzle olive oil, finish with flaky salt. Eat immediately.

Notes & variations

Use the ripest tomatoes you can find. Out of season, swap in good canned San Marzanos, drained and patted dry.
